What
organizations does Champion work with?
Champion works with only three types of organizations. For our
traditional fundraising programs—as seen on this website—we work
only with School Groups
and Youth Sports
Organizations. We also offer Affinity Onlinetm,
an affinity program for
College and University Alumni Associations and other
non-profit associations that are regional or national in scope. (To
request information regarding Affinity Online, please go to
Contact Us!)

What types of
fundraisers does Champion offer?
Order-Taker Fundraisers. These are
fundraisers in which sellers take orders using a fundraising
brochure and collect money for the items they sell; the
organization then deposits all money collected from sales into
their checking account. The organization keeps their profit and
then sends the orders to Champion with payment for exactly what
was ordered. Typical order-taker fundraising products include
frozen food (pizza, cookie dough, soft pretzels, etc.) and gift
items (jewelry, candles, engraved gifts, etc.).
Registration
Fundraisers. These fundraisers are typically done when
a youth sports organization holds member registration. Each
registrant gets a box of product and then collects money as
he/she sells and delivers the product. Currently, we offer only
one type of registration fundraising product--a healthy
Sports-Themed Microwave Popcorn. |

There are some fundraisers that Champion does not
offer: We do not offer scratch cards, coupon books or discount
cards. While some organizations have done well with these types
of fundraisers, they have a relatively high failure
rate--and many organizations have actually lost money on these
fundraising projects. We know that many sponsors may have only
one opportunity to raise money each year and we believe it
should not be a risky proposition. Champion also does not offer
candy bars, boxed chocolates, and other similar confections.
Children end up eating most such items that are sold in
fundraisers and these products have been strongly linked to the
current national epidemics of childhood obesity and early-onset
diabetes. We believe that the purpose of a fundraiser should
be to help children, and that asking children to sell items that
can potentially harm them cannot be justified for any reason. |
What if this is my
first time in charge of a major fundraiser?
No problem. We will provide a level of
assistance to you that is unmatched by any other fundraising
company. From the start you will receive a Checklist of important
tasks and the dates on which you should perform them. This serves as
a “time-line” and lets you know up front what to expect. This
checklist even offers helpful suggestions that allow you to benefit
from our experience. We also will have a Customer Service person or
a Regional Director available to you weekdays from 9:00AM to 9:00PM
to answer any questions you may have as they arise. Our Regional
Managers will even return calls on weekends, if requested to do so.
So, even if this is your first time in charge of a fundraising
project, we’ll do our best to make you look like an expert.
Are there any
risks involved in doing a fundraiser with Champion?
No.
With order-taker fundraisers, Champion provides all of the
fundraising packets for your sellers at no charge. Sellers collect
money while taking orders and all of the money collected is
deposited in your organization’s checking account. Champion invoices
your organization only for what has been ordered—and you keep your
profit in your checking account. There are no hidden costs and your
organization won’t get stuck with unwanted merchandise.
With
registration fundraisers, Champion provides only what is needed
for the sale and then sponsors may reorder additional items for
resale as needed.
 |
Does Champion provide sellers’ incentives?
Absolutely! Champion builds success into each fundraising
program by providing the highest quality prizes and the most
motivating seller incentives in fundraising. Champion will even
contribute to the cost of your incentive program. What will
motivate your sellers to help raise the money your organization
needs? Tickets to a theme park or sporting event? The latest
in consumer electronics such as MP3 players or video game
players? How about custom
team-embroidered or school-embroidered garments (such as the
jacket pictured on the left) or custom-embroidered
multi-compartment sports bags? Tell us about your organization and
what you are raising money for and we will custom-design an
incentive program that will help you get the most from your
fundraising opportunity. |

Will Champion
sort and pre-pack sellers’ orders?
Yes. With some product lines there is no charge for this
service; with others there is a reasonable charge. If you
elect to have your order sorted we will provide you with a
pre-paid Federal Express envelope so all you have to do is
send your seller's orders to Champion. We will data-enter
them, print summary reports, and package each seller's order
in sturdy boxes clearly and boldly labeled with each
seller's name, team or homeroom, organization or school
name, and the total number of boxes that were packed for
that seller.
Our sorting and pre-packing service is very accurate;
however, if anyone in your organization reports any damaged
or missing items we will take your word for it and promptly
send the correct item or issue a refund for whatever is
needed to correct the order.

Champion Regional Director by calling 1-800-685-6928, or

Should I
be concerned about handling frozen food?
Frozen food products are typically delivered on refrigerated trucks
from a regional cold storage facility to a non-residential location
of your choice—and on a date and at a time that is mutually agreed
upon. Delivery can be made to an indoor or outdoor location. Many
of the frozen food products Champion carries such as cheesecakes,
cookie dough, cinnamon rolls and soft pretzels may be thawed and
re-frozen. Champion guarantees that all products ordered will be
delivered in excellent condition or we will replace them at no
charge. If you’re still not comfortable with running a frozen food
fundraiser, just call us at 1-800-685-6928, and we’ll go over some
things you can do to take all of the worry out of it. After all,
we’ve been doing this for years . . . and we’re very good at it.

Is there a
minimum order?
There is no minimum order for any of Champion’s non-food product
lines. If you are selling frozen food then a minimum order does
apply. Point to your location on the map (right) to determine
the minimum number of frozen food items your organization must
order based on its location. If you are selling microwave
popcorn, or if your organization is located within the lower 48
US states but is in a state that is not represented on the map,
then contact your Regional Director to find out whether a
minimum order may apply. |
 |
|
Are there any delivery charges?
There are no delivery charges for any of Champion’s non-food
product lines. If you are selling frozen food then there are no
delivery charges for any delivery points located on the map
(right) for orders of 500 or more items. For all other food
orders a fair and reasonable delivery charge may apply. |
